The Imp
About This Spot
Nestled on a bustling corner of Albany Highway, The Imp offers a welcoming retreat where the hum of everyday life softens into something warm and familiar. Step inside, and you’re met with a cozy, unpretentious atmosphere that encourages lingering conversations and slow mornings. The pace here feels unhurried, like a gentle reminder to savor the simple joys—whether it’s the first sip of coffee or the comfort of a thoughtfully prepared meal.
The place hums quietly with a blend of aromas: rich coffee beans freshly ground, hints of sweet spices, and the subtle earthiness of homemade preserves. There’s a rhythm to the service that feels both attentive and relaxed, as the friendly staff move through their routines with genuine care. This is a spot where welcoming smiles seem to stir as much warmth as the steaming cups they hand over.
The Imp’s menu threads familiar breakfast favorites with unexpected touches that reveal a deep love for quality and balance. It’s the kind of place where a flat white feels both expertly crafted and like a personal ritual, and where something like a chili scrambled egg or a sticky date pudding brings a quiet thrill of discovery. Regulars cherish the thoughtful fusion of Western and Vietnamese influences, making it a rare local gem that surprises at every visit.
With choices that easily transition from a midweek morning pick-me-up to a lazy weekend treat, The Imp invites you to settle into the kind of comfort that extends beyond food and drink. It’s a place for catching up with a friend, diving into a good book, or simply pausing amidst the day’s flow—where even a simple takeaway order carries a sense of care and craft.
Whether you’re here to nurture your morning ritual or to explore new flavors with each visit, The Imp embodies the kind of genuine, grounded hospitality that leaves a lasting impression long after the last bite or sip.

Bánh mì này rất ngon! Very good food and coffee. Also really like the addition of good quality Vietnamese food and coffee. Both the western breakfast and the Vietnamese food are worth checking out!

We ordered the roasted pork and fried egg banh mi with traditional Vietnamese iced coffee with a cool dripping coffee (exactly what we have in Vietnam). All were delicious. The service was super friendly and attentive. Will come back to try more dishes on the menu.

Absolutely love The Imp! This place consistently delivers. Their pork Bánh Mì is fantastic-so fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared every time. Their Matcha latte is also top-notch. Great coffee, great food, and the staff are always super friendly. Highly recommend stopping here!

My favourite café in Perth — an absolute gem. IMP Café in Victoria Park has become my go-to spot for coffee, and honestly, I think they serve the best coffee in Perth. Every time I walk in, I’m greeted by the warmest, kindest staff — you can genuinely feel the love in this place. The atmosphere is cosy and inviting, perfect for sitting down with a book, catching up with friends, or getting some work done on a laptop. Most of the customers seem to be regulars, which says a lot about how special this café is. It just has that beautiful, welcoming energy that makes you want to stay a little longer. The food is amazing as well — their Vietnamese banh mi is easily the best I’ve had, and everything is cooked with so much care and flavour. Truly a wonderful place all around. If you’re in Victoria Park, you must visit IMP Café. It’s one of those rare spots that just makes your day better.

I recently stopped in here for a late lunch! The staff was super friendly and the vibes were immaculate. I ordered the Bao Buns with Tofu and they were absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be back to try more!

Coffee was great and liked the atmosphere. Staff were kind. It was good that they are open till 5pm most of the days where other cafes around close early as 2pm.
